Youth Ministry
St. David's is pleased to have both Alec Carlsen and Ashley Waldron as our Youth Ministers.  Both Ashley and Alec have been members of the church all their lives and are extremely excited about the upcoming year.  Ashley and Alec are planning events throughout the year for both the Junior High (Grades 6 - 8) and the Senior High (Grades 9 - 12) youth group as well as a curriculum for the Senior High Sunday School classes meeting after Sunday masses.

Annual Report

            In 2009 and 2010 the Youth program at St. David’s has mainly consisted of weekly meetings after mass with both the Junior and Sr. High youth groups. Youth group meetings include eating, reflecting, praying, and discussing the current events of the Christian calendar.

            We have also participated in special events like lock-ins and feeding of the homeless providing occasions for fellowship, learning, and fun. The youth are encouraged to bring friends to these events and they often do.

            For 2010, we have been planning out events that are consistent with the path we took in 2009. We are working on our finalized plan to involve the youth in raising funds for the mission trip tentatively scheduled for mid-June. We are making a direct effort to implement the feedback we have received from the youth as well as the parents regarding issues like scheduling special events and raising funds for the mission trip.

            This summer’s mission trip will again be facilitated by the Group Workcamps program and will take place in Dunmore, West Virginia.
