Outreach

St. David's works as a community to extend both physical and financial support to various organizations in our neighborhood, the larger metropolitan area, and internationally.

St. David’s Pre-School
St. David’s Nursery School has been serving Glenview children since 1954. They are a nonprofit, non-denominational school that is licensed by the State of Illinois. They utilize a nondiscrimination policy of admission. A parent volunteer board operates the preschool. The Nursery School is housed in a wing of the educational building of St. David’s Episcopal Church.  Click here to go to the school’s webpage:

Cathedral Shelter
Each year, St. David's parishioners provide Christmas Dinner groceries and gifts for needy families. A Giving Tree is set up in the undercroft, offering parishioners a choice of donating food, toy, and clothing gifts for families. In addition, monthly donations of gently used items are donated to the Cathedral Shelter. Click here to go to Cathedral Shelter's webpage:

Connections for the Homeless
Once a month, St. David's youth groups or families prepare and serve a meal at Connections for the Homeless, a homeless shelter located in Evanston, Illinois. Click here to go to Connections for the Homeless webpage:

Glenbridge Outreach Ministry
The Glenbridge Ministry is a monthly outreach ministry to the residents of Glenbridge Nursing Home. This ministry offers an opportunity to visit, socialize, and sing hymns with the elderly and infirm.

Northfield Township Food Pantry
St. David's supports the Northfield Township Food Pantry, which assists needy families in our community. Each September, parishioners donate over 100 bags of groceries which help to stock the shelves of the pantry. The Bread Brigade collects baked goods weekly from local bakeries and restaurants for the pantry and holds food distributions at the church every 10 days. Glenview scouts participated in the 4th of July parade. The BSA float was about 100 feet long and had over 100 Scouts marching behind it. It has over $1000 worth of donated banners on it (both sides) and won the “best Youth Group” prize in Glenview.
